Box Score Flushing, N.Y. – The Queens College baseball team suffered
a series-opening loss to the Dowling Golden Lions 4-1 at Ray Metski
Field on Friday afternoon.
Joe Salinitri returned from injury and started for the QC. The
sophomore pitcher threw all nine innings, throwing a total of 161
pitches. He gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits. In his
start, Salinitri struck out six and gave up just three walks on the
day. His only rough spots on the day were two runs
surrendered in the third and two in the fifth.
Offensively, the Knights got their run thanks to a Tim Francis
RBI single in the bottom of the sixth.
QC baseball returns to the diamond tomorrow afternoon with a
twinbill at Dowling College. First pitch of game one is scheduled
for 12 PM.
