BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. - Junior shortstop Danny Muller (No. Babylon, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 at the plate Thursday afternoon at Golden Lions Field, but it was not enough for the Queens College baseball team, which dropped a 5-0 decision to Dowling College in East Coast Conference play.
The Knights also received one hit apiece from juniors Rob Bernardo (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Anthony Mazzella (Wantagh, N.Y.), while sophomore Joe Salanitri (W. Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Nick LoBello (Baldwin, N.Y.) reached base on a walk and hit-by-pitch, respectively.
Head coach Tom Sowinski's QC squad will wrap up their regular season with a three-game weekend series against conference co-leader St. Thomas Aquinas College. Queens is slated to play host to "Senior Day" festivities prior to the team's 12 noon Saturday doubleheader.
