WALTHAM, Mass. – The Queens College volleyball team dropped its first contest of the 2011 season Friday night at the Dana Center, as the Knights (1-1) fell at the hands of Pace (4-4) by a 3-0 count (25-22, 27-25, 25-15) in the first day of the Bentley Invitational.

Senior Jovana Pavlovic (Belgrade, Serbia) led the way for QC with 12 kills on the evening, while Stephanie Schroeder (Lynbrook, N.Y.) added seven kills and 16 assists from her setter position. Freshman Christina Hickey (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) chipped in with three assisted blocks on the evening.

Head coach Leanna Taylor's Knights are back on the floor in day two of the Bentley Invitational Saturday afternoon (Sept. 17), when they face Stonehill (1 p.m.) and the host Falcons (3 p.m.).
