For the second year in a row, QC's Women's Tennis team completes
the fall, boasting of an undefeated record. Last year's team
posted a record of 12-0, and with today's 9-0 victory over Pace
University, Queens finishes this fall season at 14-0!
At the 3rd Singles position, Taylor Barber beat
Danielle Sidoti 6-1, 6-1 and teamed with Daniela Celi at 2nd
Doubles for an 8-0 win. Maria Mendes beat Liz Plakhotnaya at 2nd
Singles 6-1, 6-1 and teamed with Kim Xiong at 3rd Doubles in an 8-1
win. Laura Mocodeanu, Maria Mendes, Taylor Barber, Andrea
Salvetova, Daniela Celi, Kim Xiong all had undefeated records in
both Singles and Doubles for the entire match-play season. Erika
Goldsmith had an undefeated season in 1st Doubles.

Queens will open up the Spring season in March 2011 when they
will play Division I teams: Hofstra and Fordham in back-to-back
matches. Another Division I team on the Spring season schedule is
NJIT. In addition, Queens will play 4 Division II teams
ranked in the top 8 in the East. All this will be preparation
for the NCAA championships in May. Last year, Queens
advanced to the NCAA's sweet 16 and completed their
season ranked 2nd in the East and 36th in the country.
