FLUSHING, N.Y. – The 2026 Queens College softball season is set to begin in the Sunshine State as 13th-year head coach
Amy Delmore and the Knights open their campaign at THE Spring Games in Florida.
Queens will face a challenging schedule during the trip, playing nine regular-season contests against several of the nation's top Division II programs along with one exhibition matchup. The early-season slate will serve as an important test for the Knights as they prepare for a demanding East Region schedule and the start of East Coast Conference play later this spring.
The Knights enter the new season looking to rebound after finishing the 2025 campaign with a 9–27 overall record and a 5–15 mark in East Coast Conference play. Queens narrowly missed the ECC postseason, marking the first time since the 2022 season that the program did not qualify for the conference tournament.
With a blend of returning experience and a strong incoming class, the Knights will look to build momentum early in the season as they aim to return to postseason contention.
Roster Outlook
Delmore returns nine players from last season while welcoming eight newcomers, bringing the roster total to 17 players. The squad features a balanced mix of youth and experience with five freshmen, two sophomores, seven juniors, and three seniors.
Queens will look toward junior pitcher/utility
Caylea Campbell (Murrieta, CA.) and junior infielder
Kadie Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y.) to help lead the Knights both offensively and defensively this season.
Cain made an immediate impact in her first year in Flushing, earning All-East Coast Conference Second Team honors after leading the Knights with a .359 batting average while hitting an impressive .414 in conference play. She totaled a team-high 37 hits, including eight doubles, one triple, and one home run, while drawing seven walks, scoring 11 runs, and driving in 19.
The Hauppauge native recorded a team-best 11 multi-hit games, including seven two-hit performances and four three-hit outings. She also tallied five multi-RBI games, highlighted by a four-RBI performance in Queens' victory over D'Youville University on March 22.
Defensively, Cain proved to be a steady presence in the infield, recording 43 putouts and five assists across 160 total chances while helping turn five double plays.
Campbell will look to bounce back after a challenging sophomore season and return to the form she displayed during her rookie campaign. Last season, she posted a .253 batting average with 23 hits, including five doubles, one triple, and one home run, while scoring 11 runs and driving in 12.
Inside the circle, Campbell led the Knights with six wins and one save while pitching a team-high 114.1 innings. She struck out 85 batters and recorded one shutout, serving as one of the primary arms in the Queens pitching rotation.
Senior infielder
Allie Parascandola (East Quogue, N.Y.) is coming off a career year at the plate, finishing with a .261 batting average while recording 23 hits and four multi-hit performances. Her experience will provide valuable leadership to the infield this season.
Junior catcher/outfielder
Olivia Wanser (Westbury, N.Y.) adds a proven offensive presence after transferring from the College of Staten Island. A 2024 All-ECC First Team selection, Wanser appeared in 84 games over two seasons and compiled a .356 batting average with 94 hits, including 24 doubles and seven home runs. She also scored 40 runs, drew 37 walks, and drove in 72 RBI during her time with the Dolphins.
Queens will also rely on a talented freshman class to add depth and competition throughout the roster. Catcher/outfielder
Brooke Waiting (Seaford, N.Y.), catcher
Carla Chiaramonte (Middle Village, N.Y.), infielder
Rachel Salgado (Brentwood, N.Y.), right-handed pitcher
Nellie Donahue (Levittown, N.Y.), and middle infielder
Kayla Denino (North Babylon, N.Y.) will all look to make an immediate impact as the Knights continue building toward postseason play.
East Coast Conference Preseason Poll
The Knights were selected to finish
fifth in the East Coast Conference preseason coaches poll, earning 13 points as voted on by the league's head coaches.
