FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's tennis team concluded the 2024–2025 season with multiple Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) awards, along with national and regional team rankings.
Head coach
Somadi Druker and the Knights concluded the 2025 season with an overall record of 18-5. Along the way, they clinched an East Coast Conference regular season title, and ECC Tournament title earned the #1 seed in the East Region, and advanced to their second straight First Round match and eighth overall in program history.
Druker and the Knights earned a season-ending national ranking of #32, moving up one spot from the end of 2024, and secured the #1 ranking in the East Region.
In the ITA Regionally Awards Druker earned ITA East Coach of the Year, junior
Lucas Foix Sotos (Javea, Spain) was named Most Improved Player of the Year, and rookie
Adam Laur (Boulogne Billancourt, France) was named ITA Player to Watch.
For the second straight year, Druker has been named Coach of the Year, while Foix Sotos who earned Player to Watch honors last year went on to put together a stellar year this season as he earned All-ECC honors and was the Knights' #1 singles player all season long.
Also for the second straight year, the Knights earned Player to Watch honors as Laur earned high region honors. A staple in the #1 and #2 doubles lineup and #4-#6 singles lineup, the rookie recorded a 14-7 singles record and a 10-9 doubles record.
In the East Regional Singles Rankings, five Knights were ranked led by Foix Sotos earning the #2 ranking, sophomore
Loup Alleno (Paris, France) ranked #5, sophomore
Tim Andersson (Linkoping, Sweden) ranked #14, rookie
Samuel Linck (Haarlem, Netherlands) ranked #16 and junior
Alexis Martin-Gibiard (Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France) ranked #18 in the region.
To conclude the season, Foix Sotos and Linck were ranked #4 in the regional doubles rankings, while Martin-Gibiard and Laur secured the #5 spot.
