QUEENS, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's track and field teams got their outdoor season underway as they competed in The Big Hurt hosted by St. John's University Saturday afternoon.
 

Men's Meet Highlights

• Sophomore Diara Guy placed second in the 100m Dash with a time of 10.83 to set a new personal best.
  • In the 200m Dash Guy placed third with a time of 22.56.
• Junior Kadeem Patterson placed sixth with a time of 11.19 in the 100m Dash.
• Senior Justin Eweka placed seventh in the 200m Dash with a time of 23.40.
• In the 400m Dash junior Jehu Ermilus placed eighth with a time of 55.71.
• In the 800m Run, rookie Mateo Serringer placed eighth with a time of 2:20.67.
• In the 1500m Run, senior John Ray placed first with a time of 4:11.99, while sophomore Daniel DeGregori placed second with a time of 4:14.25.
• Ray would get second first place of the day with a time of 9:24.90 in the 3000m Run.
• Senior Peter Hoffmann placed third in the 3000m Run with a time of 10:12.56.
• In the 110m Hurdles, junior Damilola Babalola placed second with a time of 17.64.
• Junior Jalen George placed second in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.65m.

Women's Meet Highlights

• Junior Jennifer Salazar placed 17^th in the 100m Dash with a time of 14.55.
  • In the 400m Dash Salazar placed sixth with a time of 1:11.56.
• In the 200m Dash junior Maria Flores placed 14^th with a time of 30.04.
• In the 400m Dash sophomore Kierstin Galloway placed fifth with a time of 1:08.80.
  • In the 100m Hurdles, the sophomore placed third with a time of 19.01.
• Sophomore Carly Koprowski placed third in the 1500m Run with a time of 4:54.00.
• Junior Rachel Mow placed eighth with a time of 5:33.64 in the 1500m Run.
• Sophomore Joy Leong placed second in the 3000m Run with a time of 13:28.20.
• In the Shot Put event, senior Hayley Matthews placed fifth with a mark of 9.75m.

NEXT MEET

The Knights will head to Newark, DE. on Friday, Apr. 4 as they compete in the Delaware Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware Blue Hens.
