FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's volleyball team opened a four-match homestand on Saturday afternoon, welcoming the Pace University Setters to Fitzgerald Gymnasium for non-conference action.

Kylynn White (Chicago, IL) and senior outside hitter
Kendall Conrad (Carrolltown, PA) combined for 24 kills, but the Knights were unable to complete the comeback and dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision.
MATCH RECAP: Queens 1, Pace 3 (Set Scores: 22-25, 25-13, 12-25, 23-25)
The first set saw the Setters jump out to an early 9-4 lead before the Knights responded with a 7-3 run to close the gap to 12-11.
Pace then answered back with a 7-4 run to extend their advantage to 19-15.
Led by four kills from White, Queens rallied with a 7-2 run to take a 22-21 lead. However, the Setters capitalized on three errors from the home side to secure the set, winning 25-22 and taking a 1-0 match lead.
With the second set tied early at 4-4, a kill from Conrad sparked a 9-1 run, during which sophomore setter
Nourhan Hadjeb (Astoria, N.Y.) notched three service aces, giving Queens a commanding 13-5 lead.
After both teams traded the next three points, the duo of White and senior middle blocker
Lindsay Osterhoudt (Orlando, Fla) led the Knights on a 6-2 run to extend the lead to 20-9. The Knights closed out the set 25-13, tying the match at 1-1. Queens hit .308 in the set compared to just .061 from the Setters.
Errors hurt the Knights in the third set as the Setters cruised to a 25-12 victory, taking a 2-1 match lead.
Looking to tie the match at 2-2, the Knights jumped out to a 9-2 lead, fueled by two kills and three blocks. As Queens extended their advantage to 16-7, the Setters found their rhythm and began cutting into the lead. With Queens still ahead 22-17, Pace closed the set on an impressive 8-1 run, clinching a 25-23 fourth-set victory and the match 3-1.

- White led the offense with her sixth double-double of the year, recording a match-tying 13 kills, 21 assists to go with five service aces, five digs three blocks
- Conrad recorded 11 kills, five blocks, and four digs.
- Osterhoudt recorded nine kills and four blocks.
- Hadjeb tallied a career-best 15 assists, four service aces, and four digs.
- Senior middle blocker Maya Angelova (Kyustendil, Bulgaria) recorded a match-high nine blocks to go with three kills.

The Knights continue their homestand on Thursday, October 9, when they host the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Gymnasium.
