FLUSHING, N.Y. – On Friday afternoon the Queens College women's volleyball team and head coach
Stefan Leger announced its 2024 season schedule.
The 29-match season schedule features 14 home, 12 road, and three neutral matches including the Knights hosting three tri-matches in September and three first-ever meetings against non-conference opponents.
The 2024 slate features a total of 16 teams that made their respective conference championship tournament and eight that earned a trip to the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament including hosting the 2023 East Regional Champions.
For the first time since the 2021 season Leger and the Knights will return to New Haven, CT to begin the new season as they compete in the SCSU Tournament hosted by Southern Connecticut State University Owls from Friday, Sept. 6 to Saturday, Sept. 7.
Queens opens the tournament against the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning
(first-ever matchup and the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Friday before matching against the host Owls and Post University Eagles on Saturday.
The road stand concludes on Tuesday, Sept. 10 with a visit to Rutherford, NJ against the Golden Falcons of Felician University.
The first of three big homestands gets underway on Friday, Sept. 13 as Leger and the Knights host the Aline Pascal Lubin Invitational beginning with a matchup against the Eagles and the East Stroudsburg University Warriors. The Invitational concludes on Saturday, Sept. 14 against the University of Pittsburg-Johnstown Mountain Cats
(first-ever matchup) and Saint Anselm College Hawks.
Queens makes a local trip to Garden City, NY on Tuesday, Sept. 17 against the Panthers of Adelphi University to begin the week.
The second four-match homestand of the season opens the Knights Tri-Match on Saturday, Sept. 21 as Queens hosts 2023 East Regional Champions Bentley University Falcons and a first-ever matchup against the Flyers of Lewis University.
The Knights will then welcome the Tigers of Holy Family University on Wednesday, Sept. 25 before concluding the homestand on Friday, Sept. 27 against the Lions of Georgian Court University.
East Coast Conference officially gets underway on Sunday, Sept. 29 as Queens travels to Rochester, NY with a matchup against the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University.
The two-match road stand concludes in Pleasantville, NY on Wednesday, Oct. 2 against the Setters of Pace University.
Queens will spend the first three weeks at home as a season-best five-match homestand gets underway with five ECC contests beginning with a matchup against defending ECC Champions Wildcats of Daemen University on Saturday, Oct. 5 before the Knights host the Saints of D'Youville University on Sunday, Oct. 6 to conclude the week.
The Knights will then welcome the Lions of Molloy University on Thursday, Oct. 10 before concluding the homestand against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and Mavericks of Mercy University on Saturday, Oct. 19.
A second season-best five-match road stand gets underway on Thursday, Oct. 24 against the Lions in ECC play before Queens travels to West Chester, PA on Saturday, Oct. 26 against the Golden Rams of West Chester University in non-conference play.
Non-conference play officially concludes on Thursday, Oct. 31 with a trip to West Haven, CT against the Chargers of the University of New Haven.
Following the trip to West Haven, the Knights will head to Buffalo, NY for a two-match ECC slate beginning with the Wildcats on Saturday, Nov. 2 before concluding the road stand against the Saints on Sunday, Nov. 3.
The final home match of the season will see the Knights welcome the Redhawks to town on Sunday, Nov. 10 on Senior Day.
The regular season concludes on the road in the Knights' final two ECC contests of the year beginning with a stop in Sparkill, NY against the Spartans on Wednesday, Nov. 13 before concluding the regular season in Dobbs Ferry, NY on Saturday, Nov. 16 against the Mavericks.
Leger and the Knights will look to make three consecutive trips to the East Coast Conference Postseason Tournament as one of the four teams. The tournament is set from Friday, Nov. 22 to Saturday, Nov. 23 with the #1 seed slated to host.
