BUFFALO, N.Y. – Continuing East Coast Conference play, the Queens College softball team
(4-10 ECC) traveled to Buffalo to wrap up their four-game series against the Saints of D'Youville University in a Sunday afternoon doubleheader.
It would be another tough loss in game one as the offense was limited to two hits as sophomore
Dani Roselli (Levittown, N.Y.) (1-1 AB) and sophomore
Caroline Pescatore (North Babylon, N.Y.) (1-3 AB) notched the lone hits for the Knights.
But the Saints would get the lone run taking advantage of a fielding error in the home half of the second to defeat the Knights 1-0 in game one on Sunday.
The offense would leave six base runners stranded including a bases-loaded opportunity in the top of the seventh to tie or potentially take the lead.
While in game two the Knights would be limited to three hits as junior
Dyana Budakowski (Washingtonville, N.Y.) (1-3 AB), senior
Cyarra Alvarado (Coral Springs, FL) (1-3 AB), and Roselli
(1-2 AB, BB) recorded the lone hits for the offense.
But Queens would leave five bases runners stranded including two runners in the top of the first and fourth inning of play as they were unable to avoid the Sunday afternoon sweep to the final score of 5-0.
