FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team concludes the 2022-2023 regular season in two key East Coast Conferences games.
The week begins in Sparkill, N.Y. on Wednesday (Feb. 22) evening as the Knights travel to Saint Thomas Aquinas College Spartans before ending the regular season at home on Saturday (Feb. 25) afternoon against the Mavericks of Mercy College.
Prior to beginning the home finale, the Knights will honor their graduating senior
Raven Pitt (Valley Stream, N.Y.) in the annual senior day ceremony.
Scouting the Knights
- Queens enters the final week of the regular with an overall record of 8-17 and 5-9 in ECC play
- The Knights are coming off a 1-1 week having defeated Wilmington in non-conference play before falling to Roberts Wesleyan on the road as fourth struggles hurt the road to victory in Rochester.
- Heading into the final week, the Knights are sixth in the ECC standings and final postseason spot.
- Road games have been unkind to the Knights squad this season as they hold a 2-11 record, while at home they are 5-4 on the season.
- In 23 games, Queens is averaging 57.3 points per game on 38.2% shooting, 37.6 rebounds, and 12.4 assists per game.
- Sophomore Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
- Reeves matched a career-high 33 points in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan in conference play on Dec. 9.
- She has tallied four double-doubles and 14 double-digit scoring efforts on the season.
- The sophomore has earned ECC Women's Player of the Week honors on two occasions (Jan. 17 (Link) | Dec. 12 (Link) )and a Honor Roll spot on Dec. 19 (Link).
- Reeves has earned two Honorable mentions from the MBWA this season on Dec. 13 (Link), Dec. 20 (Link), and Jan. 17 (Link).
- Rookie Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) is averaging 13.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in 13 conference games.
- Davis tallied a career-high 24 points against Roberts Wesleyan on Feb. 18
- The rookie has tallied seven double-digit scoring in the past seven games
- On Monday (Feb. 20) Davis was named ECC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season (Jan. 30 Link, Feb. 13 Link) and earned a Honor Roll spot on Feb. 6 (Link)
- Davis has found a spot on the ECC Weekly report for four straight weeks.
- Davis has earned MBWA Honorable Mention honors on two separate occasions.

Scouting the Mavericks
- Mercy enters the week with an overall record of 15-9 and 9-5 in ECC play.
- The Mavericks are on a two-game losing streak having fallen in both games in their Buffalo trip over the weekend.
- Mercy will host Molloy on Wednesday before coming to Flushing to face the Knights on Saturday.
- In 24 games they are averaging 60.5 points on 35.6% shooting, 39.4 rebounds, and 10.9 assists per game.
- Katie Wall leads the offense averaging 14.2 points per game
- Wall tallied a season-high 31 points against STAC on Feb. 8.
- Taysha Bender is averaging 10.9 points per game.
