FLUSHING, N.Y. – Looking to conclude their homestand in October on a high note, the Queens College volleyball team welcomed the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College to Flushing for an East Coast Conference match inside Fitzgerald Gymnasium.
In another balanced attacking effort, the Knights offense hit a season-high .465 in the match as Queens earned a 3-0 sweep
(Set Scores: 25-21, 25-14, 25-21) over the Spartans.
With the win, the Knights improved to 12-7 overall and 6-2 in ECC play.

Match 19 Recap (Set Scores: 25-21, 25-14, 25-21)
The Spartans began the first set on a strong note as they took a 6-2 lead before the duo of senior
Alexis Deodat (Tampa Bay, FL) and junior
Christina Franco (Lynbrook, N.Y.) helped the Knights go on a 6-1 run to take an 8-7 lead.
Both teams would start a swing of points as they exchanged leads. The first set would see a total of nine ties and three lead changes as they answered each other point for point.
With the set tied at 17-17, a 4-2 run led by sophomore
Lindsay Osterhoudt (Orlando, FL) and junior
Alicia Cervera (Valencia, Spain) would see Queens take a 21-19 advantage as the Spartans called a timeout.
Using the timeout to their advantage, the Spartans would knot the set at 21-21 before three Spartans errors and a kill from sophomore
Kendall Conrad (Carrolltown, PA) helped Queens to take a 1-0 match lead with a 25-21 first set victory.
The second set would be another quick start for the Spartans as they took a 6-2 lead to begin the set. A Spartans service error would allow Queens to rally back as the trio of Deodat, junior
Despina Boudouris (Athens, Greece) and Conrad combined for five kills to go with a service ace from sophomore
Sarah Munn (Torrance, CA) as the Knights went on a 7-2 run to take a slim lead of 9-8.
After a Knights service error tied the second set for the sixth time, the Knights offense would take over as they went on a 9-2 run to take a commanding lead of 18-11, a lead they would not surrender as they earned a second set victory to the score of 25-14 for a 2-0 match lead.
With the third set tied at 1-1, Munn would record her first kill of the night as the Knights went on an 8-2 run to take a lead of 9-3.
The Spartans would attempt a comeback with a 4-2 run as they cut the Knights advantage down to 11-7.
After a solo block from Osterhoudt gave the Knights a 12-7 lead and serve back to Queens, Franco at the service line would record a season-high 11 straight serves as the Knights recorded a season-high 12-0 run as Queens completed the series sweep with a 25-11 third set victory to earn their second straight ECC series sweep of the year with a 3-0 victory over the Spartans Wednesday evening.

- For the third straight match, Conrad paced the Knights' offense as the sophomore recorded a team-high 10 kills to go with three digs, one block, one service ace, and an assist.
- Deodat recorded seven kills hitting a scorching .778 on nine attempts to go with one service ace and two blocks.
- Osterhoudt recorded seven kills hitting .538 on 13 attempts to go with three blocks.
- Cervera notched six kills to go with four digs.
- Franco recorded another all-round effort with five kills, seven digs, and a career-best five service aces.
- Boudouris recorded a match-high 33 assists to go with six digs, two blocks, and one kill.
- Munn tallied a match-high 13 digs, three assists, two service aces, and a career-best two kills in the victory.
- As a team, all seven players recorded a kill as Queens hit a season-high .465 in the match with 38 kills and a season-low five errors on 71 attempts.
