Scouting the Knights
- Queens enters the week with an overall record of 5-9 and 3-2 in conference play.
- They are coming off a 66-55 victory over Staten Island in East Coast Conference play Wednesday evening.
- The Knights have won three ECC games in a row having defeated Roberts Wesleyan, Molloy, and Staten Island at home.
- In 14 games, Queens is averaging 59.4 points per game on 38.8% shooting, 37.6 rebounds, and 12.3 assists per game.
- Sophomore Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
- Reeves matched a career-high 33 points in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan in conference play on Dec. 9.
- She has tallied two double-doubles on the season.
- The sophomore has earned ECC Women's Player of the Week honors on Dec. 12 (Link) and a Honor Roll spot on Dec. 19 (Link).
- Reeves has earned two Honorable mentions from the MBWA this season on Dec. 13 (Link) and Dec. 20 (Link).
- In the past four games, junior Khadija Demry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 14.8 points per game to lead the offense
- Demry matched a career-high 24 points against Stonehill (Dec. 29) and team-high 14 points in the victory over Molloy. On Saturday (Jan. 7), the guard added 15 points against Franklin Pierce.
- Freshman Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) is averaging 9.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in the past four games.
- The guard has added back-to-back double-doubles in conference play as she notched 11 points and 13 rebounds against Molloy (Jan. 4) and she would follow that up with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over Staten Island this past Wednesday.
- On Tuesday (Jan. 3), Demry was awarded ECC Player of the week honors. (Link)
- It is the second time this season a Knight has earned ECC Player of the Week honors with Reeves earning back on Dec. 12.
Scouting the Firebirds
- District of Columbia enters Saturday with an 8-8 overall record and 3-2 in conference play.
- The Firebirds are coming off a 63-48 victory over Molloy University Wednesday evening in Rockville Centre.
- In 16 games on the season, they are averaging 67.7 points per game on 38.3% shooting, 40.8 rebounds, and 11.6 assists per game.
- Destiny Ryles leads the offense averaging 17.4 points per game.
- Ryles tallied a season-high 31 points against Goldey-Beacom.
- Latavia Jackson is averaging 15.7 points per game.
- Jackson recorded a season-high 33 points against Georgian Court.
