FLUSHING, N.Y. – Sophomore
Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and freshman
Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) combined for 31 points as the Queens College women's basketball team earned their third straight East Coast Conference victory over the visiting College of Staten Island Dolphins Wednesday evening inside Fitzgerald Gymnasium.

Khadija Demry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) opened the scoring for the Knights with a jumper at the 8:52 mark before the Dolphins tied the game at the 7:59 mark.
Demry would lead the Knights on a 9-4 run from the 7:32 mark to the 5:36 mark as the home side took an 11-6 lead and never looked back.
The Dolphins would make a 9-5 run as they trimmed the Knights lead down to one, 16-15 before a jumper by Demry put the Knights up 18-15 to close the first quarter with a three-point lead.
Both sides would trade buckets in the early going of the second quarter as the visitors turned the Knights five-point lead down to one, 22-21 with 8:27 remaining until halftime.
Reeves would lead a 9-0 run for Queens with seven points from 7:53 to 5:45 as Queens took a 10-point lead of 31-21.
Staten Island would break their scoreless drought with a 7-0 run as they cut the score down to 31-28 with 3:13 remaining in the second quarter forcing a Queens timeout.

Raven Pitt (Valley Stream, N.Y.) added a layup as the home side end the second quarter on a 10-0 run to take a 10-point lead of 41-31 heading into the halftime locker rooms.
Reeves extended the lead to 12 points on a steal by sophomore
Farrah Pitt (Valley Stream, N.Y.) as Queens had a 43-31 lead with 9:15 left in the third.
With the Dolphins struggling to get their offense going, the Knights went on a 6-1 run as they led 49-32 with 5:02 remaining in the quarter.
For every run the visitors made, Queens continued to answer back. After the Dolphins cut a 17 point down to nine, 49-40 with 1:44 to go in the third, the Knights would end the quarter on a 6-0 run capped off by a Carlson three-pointer to beat the buzzer as the Knights extended their lead back to 15, 55-40 heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
The Dolphins opened the fourth quarter on a 6-2 run as they trimmed the lead down to 11, 57-46 with 7:08 left in the game.
Queens would apply the finishing touches with a 7-0 run from the 6:54 mark to the 4:19 mark as they forced three Dolphins turnovers to take an 18-point lead of 64-46.
The Dolphins would tally back-to-back buckets to cut the score down to 64-50, but the Knights would the visitors 1-5 from the field over the final 3:02 minutes of play to earn their second straight ECC victory to the final score of 66-55.
Game Highlights
- Reeves tallied a game-high 20 points (7-12 FG, 5-8 FT) with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
- Davis notched her second straight double-double in conference play with 11 points (3-12 FG, 4-5 FT) to go with a team-high 11 rebounds, a career-high three blocks, and one steal.
- Off the bench, Carlson added 11 points (4-9 FG) and three rebounds.
- Raven Pitt (Valley Stream, N.Y.) flirted with a triple-double recording nine points, six rebounds, and a career-high seven assists on the evening.
- The Knights defense forced 17 turnovers as they earned 10 steals and seven blocks.
- Queens scored 20 points off of 17 Dolphins' turnovers.
- Queens added 17 assists on 24 made field goals.
- The Knights shot 36.9% going 24-65 from the field, while the Dolphins were held to 34.4% from the field with a 21-61 field goal performance.
