FLUSHING, N.Y. – The fall semester concludes on Saturday (Dec. 17) afternoon as the Queens College women's basketball team welcomes nationally ranked #10 Greyhounds of Assumption University to Flushing in non-conference action. 
 
Scouting the Knights

• The Knights are 3-6 overall and are coming off a 61-58 victory over Roberts Wesleyan Friday (Dec. 16) evening. 
• Queens is averaging 55.7 points per game on 39.7% shooting, 36.1 rebounds, and 11.7 assists per game. 
• Freshman Cecilia Lapertosa (Whitesboro, N.Y.) leads the offense averaging 13.1 PPG, 7.3 RPG. On the season, the rookie has three double-doubles with a career-high 24 points and 13 rebounds against D'Youville.
• While sophomore Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 11.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. 
• On Monday (Dec. 12), the East Coast Conference awarded Reeves Player of the Week honors for her game-winning double-double performance of 33 points and 10 rebounds in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan. Link
  • On Tuesday (Dec. 13) Reeves earned a honorable mention spot on the MBWA Weekly Report sheet.  Link
• On Monday (Dec. 5), the East Coast Conference office awarded Lapertosa her third Rookie of the Week honors in the fourth Women's Basketball Weekly Report of the Year. Link
  • Lapertosa earned ROTW honors on Nov. 14 and Nov. 28.
• The Knights are 2-2 against the Greyhounds and both teams are matching up for the first time since the 2016-17 season when Queens avenged a regular season loss against the Greyhounds with a 69-48 victory in the First Round game in the NCAA East Regional Tournament.

Scouting the Greyhounds

• Assumption enters Queens undefeated with a 9-0 overall record.
  • The Greyhounds remain the lone team in the East Region that has yet to suffer a loss.
  • They are ranked #10 in the D2SIDA National Poll and #1 in the East Region.
• They are averaging 69.4 points per game on 47.7% shooting, 37.6 rebounds, and 15.9 assists per game.
• Molly Stokes leads the offense averaging 14.7 points per game and recorded a season-high 24 points in the victory over Dominican (11/26).

• Head coach Bet Naumovski and the Knights return to action following the Christmas break as they travel to North Easton, Massachusetts on Thursday (Dec. 29) afternoon as they match up against Division I North East Conference member Stonehill College Skyhawks. Tip-off set for 4:00 p.m.
