This Week in Knights Athletics: Oct. 31 – Nov. 6

FLUSHING, N.Y. – East Coast Conference championship season has started for the fall sports with the women's tennis championship concluding this past Saturday. Volleyball will conclude its regular season this week, while men's soccer and the men's and women's cross country teams set their sights on championship week. 
 
Last Week's Recap:
 
Men's soccer went 1-0 on the week as they defeated Staten Island 4-0 to conclude their regular season schedule on a high note. The Knights finished the regular season with a program record of 13-5 and 6-2 in ECC play to earn the #2 seed in the upcoming tournament. 
 
Women's soccer went 0-1-1 on the week as the Knights fell to New Haven and drew with Staten Island to conclude their 2022 season. First-year head coach Thomas Paris and the Knights finished the year with an overall record of 2-9-3 and 2-4-2 in East Coast Conference play. 
 
Volleyball went 1-0 on the week as they defeated Mercy College 3-1 for their first victory over their ECC foe since the 2017 season. Saturday's win saw an eight-game losing streak come to an end as the Knights earned the series split. The Knights finished their home game schedule with an 8-3 record including a 5-1 home record in October.  
 
Women's tennis fell short of their third crown in four years on Saturday afternoon. The Knights advanced to the championship match with a 4-0 victory over the District of Columbia Friday morning. Three Knights earned ECC All-Conference honors as seniors Maja Makal (Bialystok, Poland), and Gabriela Sciarrotta (Woodmere, N.Y.) were awarded First Team honors, while junior Caroline Hany-Fawzy (Alexandria, Egypt) earned Second Team Honors.

Home Spectator Policy:
  • Anyone not vaccinated or cannot provide proof of negative test result will not be allowed entry into the campus
  • All volleyball home games will take place in the Auxiliary Gym 
  • For continuous visitors (parents/relatives) of Queens College student-athletes, who will attend more than three home games a month, you must upload proof of vaccination or negative PCR test results within 7-days of entry through Cleared4.
 
All home games will be live-streamed on the ECC Network and fans can follow along on live stats.
