FLUSHING, N.Y. – Playing in overcast conditions Sunday morning on the recently renovated outdoor tennis courts, the Queens College men's tennis team concluded their fall schedule with a non-conference victory over St. Michael's College Purple Knights. 
 
Following the doubles sweep, the Knights took four of the singles competition to earn a 5-2 victory over the Purple Knights to end the fall with a 1-1 overall record. 
 
Doubles Play
 
The Knights got off to a quick start as the #1 doubles duo of graduate student
 Moritz Borges (Hunxe, Germany) / junior
 Roni Rikkonen (Tampere, Finland) swept Jackson Moser/Jason Boucher to the score of 6-0. 
 
The #2 doubles pair of senior 
Kareem Rashad (Alexandria, Egypt) / graduate student 
Lluis Miralles Miro (Barcelona, Spain) clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 victory over Tristian Du Plessis/Simon Lundholm. 
 
Queens would complete the sweep at #3 doubles as the duo of senior 
Mariano Bibiloni (La Plata, Argentina) / sophomore 
Cameron Henricy (Las Palmas, Spain) took a 6-4 victory over Josh Weiss/Seb Tonini.
 
Singles Play
 
The visitors would tie the match 1-1 as junior 
Francisco Gonzalez (La Plata, Argentina) fell in three sets to Julius van den Broek at #6 singles to the score of 6-4, 3-6, 9-11. 
 
Miro would give Queens a 2-1 lead with a two-set sweep over Mathis Billman to the score of 6-2, 6-2 at #4 singles. 
 
Senior 
Lucas Demuth (Buenos Aires, Argentina) gave the Knights a commanding lead of 3-1 as he earned a 6-4, 6-2 sweep over Boucher at #3 singles.
 
Henricy would clinch the match for the Knights at #1 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Moser.
 
Borges at #5 singles would give Queens their fifth point of the day with a three-set comeback. The senior fell 3-6 in the first set before battling back with a 7-5 victory in the second set and would complete the comeback with a 10-7 third-set victory. 
 
At #2 singles Rashad would fall to Weiss in a tough three-setter to the score of 6-4, 6-7 
(6-8), 7-10 to conclude the fall season. 
Head coach 
Somadi Druker and her Knights will now rest and prepare for the Spring Championship season. The full schedule will be released soon.
