LITTLE SILVER, N.J. – On Saturday afternoon, the Queens College men's tennis team returned to action as the Knights matched up against Division I CCA member Hawks of Monmouth University.
Playing against one of the toughest teams in the East Region, the Knights would have their work cut for them as they took on the Hawks for the second time this season.
After falling 7-0 in the first meeting during the fall, Queens would earn 2 victories Saturday over the Hawks in the second bout but would fall to the final score of 6-1.
The doubles pair of graduate student
Moritz Borges (Hunxe, Germany) / sophomore
Cameron Henricy (Las Palmas, Spain) picked up a victory at #3 doubles over Dmitry Bezborodov and Diego Laporta to the score of 6-4.
While senior
Mariano Bibiloni (La Plata, Argentina) was the lone Knight to pick up a singles court victory coming at #4 against Alexander Zuckerman to the score of 6-3, 2-6, 10-8.
Doubles Competition
- Senior Kareem Rashad (Alexandria, Egypt) and graduate student Lluis Miralles Miro (Barcelona, Spain) fell to Charlie Penman and Niels Van Noord 6-3
- Senior Lucas Demuth (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and junior Roni Rikkonen (Tampere, Finland) fell to Gabriel Busato and Victor Castro 6-3
- Graduate student Moritz Borges (Hunxe, Germany) / sophomore Cameron Henricy (Las Palmas, Spain) defeated Dmitry Bezborodov and Diego Laporta 6-4.
Singles Competition
- Henricy fell 6-2, 6-2 to Noord
- Rikkonen fell 6-4, 7-5 to Bezborodov in a closely-contest match
- Demuth fell 6-1, 6-2 to Castro
- Bibiloni defeated Zuckerman 6-3, 2-6, 10-8
- Junior Omar El Shehawey (Cairo, Egypt) fell 6-2, 6-1 to Lucca Silva
- Miro fell 6-2, 6-0 to Arthur Dussaubat

Somadi Druker and the Knights open a nine-match homestand beginning on Friday (Feb. 24) afternoon against DI NEC member Long Island University Sharks. The first serve is set for noon.
