AMHERST, N.Y. (Jan. 10, 2020) - A spirited second-half comeback could not erase what was a cold-shooting first half as the Queens College men's basketball team fell to Daemen on Friday (Jan. 10) in Amherst, N.Y. by a final score of 65-57.
Queens is now 2-11 on the season and 1-3 in East Coast Conference play. The win at Lumsden Gymnasium put the host Wildcats to a 14-4 record with a 3-1 mark in conference competition.
Tyrese Crosdale had a team-high 13 points with fellow guard
Elijah Bovell adding ten points. The two combined to shoot 10-for-25 (40%) from the floor while the rest of the Knights' squad hit just 14-of-37 (39%) from the field as well.
Joey Wallace's 23 points led Daemen on a night in which ECC Preseason Player of the Year Andrew Sischo did not play for the host Wildcats. Wallace also added seven rebounds as did Breon Harris to go along with ten points.Â
Queens shot just 7-for-28 (25%) from the field in the first half and trailed the hosts at one point by a 28-7 margin with seven minutes remaining in the opening frame of play. Daemen hit 44% (24-55) of its shots in the victory including a scorching 55% (16-29) mark from the floor in the first half.Â
Queens will be in action on Sunday (Jan. 12) at 4 p.m. as the Knights face Roberts Wesleyan at the Voller Athletic Center in Rochester.
