WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Apr. 22, 2019) - One has made an impact by throwing together an impressive string of starting pitching performances in conference play. The other had a fantastic week at the plate with a .636 average. But both Dennis Buckstein and Anthony Scotti were able to find their names on the East Coast Conference Weekly Honor Roll for baseball, representing the Queens College baseball team in a statement from the conference office on Monday (Apr. 22).

Buckstein continued on the pitching rubber against ECC opponents with a complete-game victory against Bridgeport on Friday (Apr. 19). The senior right-hander struck out ten batters while yielding only two runs on seven hits in the 4-2 win for Queens to open the four-game set with the Purple Knights. Buckstein has now struck out ten or more batters in each of his last three conference starts and is now 4-0 in five starts this season when facing conference opponents.

Scotti continued his late-season push with three strong games as the Knights went 2-1 with a non-conference win against Dominican and an ECC victory over Bridgeport. The junior hit .636 (7-11) with six RBI over the week including a three-hit, three-RBI performance in the team's 11-10 win over Dominican on Tuesday (Apr. 16). Scotti went 4-for7 in Friday's (Apr. 19) doubleheader against Bridgeport with a double and three runs driven in.

The Knights---who were recently ranked inside the top-10 of the NCBWA East Region poll---host Bridgeport on Tuesday (Apr. 23) in a doubleheader at Hennekens Stadium. The first game is set for a 12 p.m. start.
