Men's Track and Field | 12/8/2019 8:46:00 PM

Teaneck, NJ: After opening their season at Yale University on Saturday (12.7.19), the Queens College Men's and Women's indoor track and field program returned right back to action Sunday (12.8.19) as the Knights traveled to Fairleigh Dickinson University to partake in the FDU Knight Classic inside the Rothman Center.

Women's Result:
Senior Nyakuome Thichiot earned a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash (1:07.79). In the 500-meter run, Queens earned a top-10 finish as sophomore Gillian Kisling (1:30.84) and freshmen Alexis Hall (1:32.14) finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Knights earned a first-place finish in the distance medley as the team of Hall, junior Crystal Jia, senior Angie Calle and junior Kennedy Williams with a time of 14:30.57. Competing in the triple jump, Thichiot finished second with a jump of 10.92m, while teammate and freshmen Bianca Hiltz (9.83m) came in third.

Men's Result:
Competing in the 500-meter run, freshmen Jahmel Maynor-Mendez (1:06.72) and sophomore Myles Jackson (1:07.74) bested DI competition in back to back days coming in third and fifth, respectively. In the 1 mile run, sophomore Pablo Hernandez (4:51.56) and senior Clivensky Etienne (4:57.53) had a top-five finish. 
Sophomore Pavan Bhat bested FDU competition in the high jump (1.96m) with a first-place finish. While in the long jump, junior Ooreofe Oluwadara (6.95m) and Bhat (6.92m) bested their competition earning a first and second-place finish. After impressing in the Yale Season Opener in the shot put event, junior Daniel Diaz earned a third-place finish with a throw of 13.36m while sophomore Robert Skidmore earned a sixth-place with a best throw of 12.40m.

Following another strong showing, Head Coach Robert Davis stated: "FDU justifies what type of team we are building here, back to back days and limited sleep and we still able to prevail."

Up Next: With the fall semester coming to an end and Christmas break around the around, the Knights take a break and return to action in the New Year on January 10th when they travel to Staten Island, NY to participate in the STAC Spartan Invite.  First event slated to start at 1:00 PM.
