FLUSHING, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2019) - The Queens College volleyball team was playing defense for most of the afternoon Saturday (Nov. 2) as the Knights fell in a three-set conference match-up to Daemen College at Fitzgerald Gymnasium. QC lost by scores of 25-13, 25-10 and 25-14 and fell to 2-16 on the year and 0-7 in East Coast Conference play. Daemen improved to 14-8 overall with the win and the Wildcats boast a 4-3 record in league competitions.
Knights That Shined
- On an afternoon where the Knights compiled more digs (30) than any other statistic, senior Lauren Kehoe stood out the most with six kills and five digs. The Kings Park native also had one of the team's two service aces and crossed the 100-dig plateau on the season.
- Alisha Matthews posted six assists and nine digs as well for the Knights while Genesis Soto added two kills.
Up Next on the Docket
Queens will take to the court once again on Sunday (Nov. 3) for a 1 p.m. showcase at Fitzgerald Gymnasium against Roberts Wesleyan College. The Knights and Redhawks played a five-set match up in Rochester earlier this season with Roberts recording its only win of the season in that contest.
