AMHERST, N.Y. (Oct. 5, 2019) - Freshman middle hitter
Alexis Deodat posted one of her strongest performances of the season for the Queens College volleyball team on Saturday (Oct. 5) against ECC preseason co-favorite Daemen College. Unfortunately for the Knights, the Wildcats proved to be just too much to handle as the hosts swept QC by scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-7 at Lumsden Gymnasium.
Daemen improved to 11-5 overall on the season and 2-1 in East Coast Conference play while Queens fell to 1-10 on the year and 0-3 in league action.
Knights That Shined
- Deodat had a team-best nine kills out of the middle on a .312 hitting percentage while fellow middle blocker Briana Green had four kills on eight attempts in the match.
- Outside hitter Dee-Ana Mitchell added four kills to go along with five digs and two service aces while Angie Nicholes collected a team-high six digs with three kills, as well.
- Alisha Matthews had 15 total assists in the match and libero Danielle Naggar tied for the team lead with six digs.

Queens will face the other preseason co-favorite in the East Coast Conference as Molloy College comes to Flushing for a 7 p.m. battle in Fitzgerald Gymnasium on Tuesday (Oct. 8).
