FLUSHING, N.Y. (Jan. 10, 2019) – Queens College Interim Director of Athletics
Rob Twible announced the elevation of
Stefan Leger to the title of Interim Head Volleyball Coach for the Fall 2019 season. Leger served as the first assistant coach for the Knights in the fall of 2018.
Twible stated that Leger's "energy and passion for volleyball are obvious to notice. His commitment to the team along with that passion will certainly lead to a bright future, and we are excited to have him serve in this capacity."
Leger was previously the first assistant coach at SUNY Farmingdale, helping the Rams to win the 2016 Skyline Conference Championship for the first time in the program's history. He also helped shepherd Farmingdale into its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth that season.
"I am very excited to have the privilege of being the Head Coach of this team," Leger stated. "I'm looking to coach the team to the best of my ability so that we can ascend to the heights that this program has previously achieved. I will put pride and effort into continually improving the team every day and I believe that the results from the team's hard work will show on the court."
Leger played collegiate volleyball at the Division III level, competing for the Polytechnic Institute of New York University from 2011-12 where he ranked second in the nation in total blocks per set. Leger also coaches club volleyball for The Island Volleyball Academy.
