Men's Tennis Shuts Out Daemen In ECC Opener

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College men's tennis team opened East Coast Conference play with a 9-0 win over Daemen.  The Knights did not lose a set in the contest as QC picked up its sixth straight win.

The duos of Sharvill Nawghre and Roman Laga (1st doubles) and Lucas Martinez and Gabriel Mendez (2nd doubles) each won by the score of 8-2.  In 3rd doubles, Ryan Frankel and Camilo Arias won 8-3.

Frankel picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win in 2nd singles, while Laga pitched a near shutout in 4th singles (6-0, 6-1).   Federico Toscano picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win in 6th singles, while Nawghre won 6-3, 6-2 in 1st singles.  Mendez won 6-1, 6-2 in 3rd singles, and Arias won 6-1, 6-4 in 5th singles.

QC is back in action Saturday afternoon against Roberts Wesleyan (12:00 pm).
