Men's Tennis Shuts Out Caldwell On The Road

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Queens College men's tennis team improved to 7-2 on the year with a 9-0 victory over Caldwell Saturday on the road.

The Knights won all nine matches in straight sets.  The duo of junior Sharvill Nawghre (Nagpur, India) and sophomore Roman Laga (Baiersbronn, Germany) won 1st doubles 8-4, while junior Gabriel Mendez (Pachuca, Mexico) and sophomore Lucas Martinez (Buenos Aires, Argentina) took 2nd doubles 8-3.  Junior Ryan Frankel (Bournemouth, England) and junior Federico Toscano (Buenos Aires, Argentina) won 3rd doubles 8-4.

Nawghre later won 1st singles 6-3, 6-2.  Martinez won 2nd singles 6-0, 6-3 while Mendez won 3rd singles 6-2, 6-3.  The Knights begin ECC play Friday, Apr. 1 with a home match against Daemen (4:30 pm).
