Knights Win Fourth Straight with 9-0 Blanking of Caldwell

Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College men's tennis team won its fourth straight match on Tuesday, with a 9-0 shutout of Caldwell from the tennis bubble in Flushing.  The team improved to 9-3 on the season.

 

In doubles, the number one team of Sharvil Nawghre and Gabriel Mendez prevailed 8-4.  The pairing of Christopher Baron and Lucas Martinez resulted in an 8-3 victory and the group of Ryan Frankel and Federico Toscano came out on top, 8-2.

 

The Knights didn't drop a set in singles play.  Baron won 6-0, 6-1, at first singles.  Nawghre, the current ECC Player of the Week, won his match, 3 and 3.  Frankel triumphed, 6-2, 6-0.  Martinez won 6-4, 6-1; while Toscano won at ffifth singles, 6-2, 6-1.  Finally, Miguel Bendito wrapped up singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 victory.

 

The Queens College men's tennis team returns to the court on Friday, April 10, when they host Rockland Community College at 3:00 PM.
