Men's Tennis Improves to 6-3 with 8-1 Whipping of Daemen

Amherst, N.Y. - Led by a 3-0 sweep of doubles matches, Queens College improved to 6-3 on the season with an 8-1 victory over Daemen in an East Coast Conference tennis match played in Amherst, New York on Friday.  The Knights also won five-out-of-six singles pairings.

 

In first doubles, Sharvill Nawghre and Gabriel Mendez edged out a 9-7 triumph.  The second team of Ryan Frankel and Federico Toscano won their match, 8-4 adn the pairing of Miguel Bendito and Christopher Baron emerged victorius, 8-2.

 

Nawghre won at first singles,6-1, 6-4.  Frankel won his third singles flight, 6-2, 6-2.  Toscano dominated his oponnent for a 6-2, 6-2 win.  In the fifth spot, Gabriel Mendez won 6-2, 6-0. Finally, at sixth singles, Bendito prevailed 4-6, 6-0, 10-7, coming from behind to earn the win.

 

The QC men's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, April 4, when they face Roberts Wesleyan at noon in Rochester.
