Volleyball Stopped In Three Sets At Dowling

OAKDALE, N.Y. - The Queens College volleyball team fell in three sets to Dowling Thursday evening in East Coast Conference action.  Set scores were 25-13, 25-15 and 25-11.

In the first set, the Lions jumped out to a 9-2 lead and pulled away for the 12 point set victory.  The Knights held an 11-9 advantage in the second set, before a Dowling 12-1 run gave the Lions a 21-12 lead, and swung the momentum in the favor of the home team.  Similar in the third set, ahead by three, 12-9, Dowling put the game away with a 10-0 run to take a 13 point lead.

Senior Bianca Steele registered a team best nine kills in the game, while senior Arielle DiCocco had eight kills.  Sophomore Jessica Yin had 25 assists in the contest to go along with eight digs.  Senior Xhesi Domi had a game high 11 digs.

Weronika Wiezik posted a game high 12 kills in the game, while Katarzyna Klocek and Dragana Jelovac had eight kills apiece.  Kayla Dillman tallied 29 while Wiezik had seven digs.

QC is back in action Tuesday evening at home against Georgian Court in non-conference play.
