Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College men's tennis team improved to 11-3 on the year with a 7-2 thumping of Daemen in an East Coast Conference tennis matched played at the outdoor tennis courts in Flushing on Friday.
The Knights took two of the three doubles matches as the combination of Christopher Baron and Andre Pellegrino won at first doubles, 8-2. Also, the team of Younes Hidass and Adam Pizow won in second doubles, 8-4.
In singles play, Hidass won 6-2, 6-2. Baron was triumphant, 6-1, 6-3, and Pellegrino prevailed, 6-3, 6-2. In perhaps the most dominant performance of the day, Kevin Burgess won his match 6-1, 6-1, while Pizow prevailed, 6-1, 6-3. finally Howard Wong won five games across two sets, but lost in the end.
The Queens College men's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, April 12, when they host Roberts Wesleyan at noon.
