Flushing, N.Y. - Despite a steady run that washed away games for the QC baseball and softball teams, the Queens College men's tennis team went inside the newly renovated tennis bubble to host Merrimack. The Warriors defeated the Knights, 5-4, despite a dominating day from Christopher Baron for Queens.
In doubles play, QC took two of the three points as the team of Baron and Andre Pellegrino won 8-6. Younes Hidass and Kevin Burgess were also victorious by that same, 8-6, score. Adam Pizow and Howard Wong lost their doubles match.
In singles play, Baron won in straight sets, 6-0, 3-1, retired. The other QC triumph came in third singles, where Pellegrino won, 6-2, 6-3.
The QC men's tennis team returns to action on Sunday, March 30, when they host the University of the Sciences at noon.
