Men's Tennis Squeaks Out Win over Kutztown in Home Opener

Queens, N.Y. - It went down to the wire for the Queens College men's tennis team, but the Knights pulled out a 5-4 win over Kutztown in the home opener on Friday, March 8.  The team is now 1-1 in the spring season.

The competition opened with doubles matches and Queens triumphed in two of the three matches.  The team of Andre Pellegrino and Nikolaj Wulff won their match, 9-7 while Christopher Baron and Younes Hidass also defeated Kutztown by the same score.  The other competitors in doubles for Queens, Alexander Morris and Adam Pizow, lost their match.

In singles play, both schools split their matches as Hidass, Baron and Wulff all won their competitions while Pellegrino, Morris and Pizow lost theirs.  The deciding match belonged to Baron, whose three-set win determined the winner in the event.

The Knights' men's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, March 9, when they face Adelphi University.
