Kilic's Double-Double not Enough as Knights Fall to LIU Post in Three Sets

Box Score

Brookville, N.Y. - Queens College setter, Ceren Kilic, posted her third straight double-double on Saturday, but it wasn't enough as the Knights' volleyball team fell to LIU Post in three sets in a match played in Brookville, New York.  The scores of the sets were 25-16, 25-22 and 26-24.

Kilic posted a match-best 15 digs to go with her 24 assists.  The opening set saw the Pioneers open a 10-point advantage at 20-10.  Queens fought back from there and got within22-16 when MacKenzie Hamilton recorded a kill from one of Kilic's assists.  However, LIU Post closed out the set with three straight points.

Set two was more fortuitous for QC, although the Pioneers jumped out to a 4-1 lead.  From there, Queens answered with three points on a kill from Tori Bowser and strong serves from Xhesi Domi.  The second set would see the score tied on 19 different occasions, the final tie coming at 22-all thanks to another Boswer kill. The freshman would have five kills in the match.

The third set saw LIU Post take an 8-4 lead until a 5-1 QC run evened the score at 9-9.  Later in the set, an Arielle DiCocco kill tied the score at 24-all, but two LIU Post points put the match away.

The Queens College volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, November 5, when they host NYIT at 7:00 PM from Fitzgerald Gym.
