UMass-Lowell downed the Knights, 3-1, in Massachusetts on
Friday night in the first of three games for Queens College in the
2010 NE10/ECC Volleyball Challenge.
The scores of the games were 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20.
QC held a 21-20 lead in game one on a UML attack error but
surrendered five of the last six points in dropping a 25-22
decision. Lowell used runs of 5-0, 6-0 and 4-0 in taking game two,
25-19 before QC rallied from a 21-16 deficit in the third game to
win, 25-23. In the decisive fourth game, UML turned a 11-9 edge
into a 22-12 advantage on their way to a 25-20 win and a
three games to one victory over the Knights.
Lisa Marie Papenthin had nine kills and 15 digs while Latoya
Edward had eight kills and 19 digs and Jovana Pavlovic added eight
kills and 15 digs for QC.
