In a hard fought battle the Knights drop a conference match to the N.Y.I.T Bears in Old Westbury 3-1. With the loss the Knights fall to 8-15 overall and 3-7 in ECC play while the Bears improve to 17-10 and 7-3 in conference play.
The opening set of the match was a back and forth battle in which N.Y.I.T edged Queens by two with a score of 25-23. The Knights would then go on to drop the next set 25-17. The down but not out Knights played a scrappy third set which came down to the wire and saw the Knights prevail with a score of 26-24. Leading the way for the Knights offense was senior Latoya Edward who had a total of 16 kills followed by Joanna Pavolvic's 11. The Knights also played their fair share of defense which was led by the 19 digs of freshman Lisa Marie Papenthin. Suzanne Byrne also added 10 digs of her own to help the Knights in their efforts. Queens would come up short in the fourth set failing to force a fifth losing to N.Y.I.T 25-17 and dropping the match 3-1.
The Knights will return to action Thursday November 4th when they travel to Mercy to take on the Mavericks.
