FLUSHING, N.Y. – Fifth-year head coach
Greg Welch and the Queens College men's and women's cross country teams will open their 2026 season on Friday, Sept. 4, at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite in Bethpage, N.Y.
As the Knights begin their preparations for the East Coast Conference Cross Country Championships, both the men's and women's teams have been picked to finish sixth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll.

On the men's side, the Knights will have seven student-athletes competing throughout the season as they look to improve their times and make an impact at the ECC Championships in November.
Senior
Daniel DeGregori will look to continue leading the Knights after serving as a key contributor throughout his cross country career. Last season, DeGregori recorded a career-best time at the NJIT Invitational, completing the 8K race in 26:47.9. At the 2025 ECC Championship, the East Meadow native narrowly missed earning All-ECC honors, placing 16th with a career-best finish.
On the women's side, the Knights enter the season with a reloaded roster, including five newcomers making their collegiate cross country debuts. Senior
Carly Koprowski and sophomore
Jordyn Cruz, who have both earned All-ECC honors during their indoor and outdoor track & field careers, will look to add to their accolades as the cross country season progresses.
The men's team will look to capture its first ECC Championship in program history, while the women's team will seek its second conference title and first since the 2009 season.
