STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's indoor track and field teams returned to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Sunday to compete at the East Coast Conference Championship.
Junior
Carly Koprowski (Wantagh, N.Y) delivered a standout performance, capturing the 800m title with a career-best time of 2:10.75. The mark set a new program record, and ECC meet record while earning All-ECC First Team honors. Koprowski's time also met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard (2:13.30).
Rookie
Jordyn Cruz (Holbrook, N.Y.) joined Koprowski on the podium, placing third in the 800m with a career-best time of 2:17.41 to earn All-ECC First Team recognition.
In relay action, the 4x400m team of Koprowski, Cruz, senior
Brianna Call (Fishkill, N.Y.), and rookie
Celeste Minkwe Jore (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) finished seventh, securing two points for the Knights.
On the men's side, senior
Jalen George (Baldwin, N.Y.) turned in a strong showing in the throwing events, placing sixth in the Weight Throw (14.18m) and seventh in the Shot Put (13.18m) to earn All-ECC Second Team honors.
Rookie
Nathanael Hansen (Queens, N.Y.) recorded a seventh-place finish in the 800m (2:00.65), while rookie
Dorian Boyd (Freeport, N.Y.) posted a career-best time of 50.51 in the 400m Dash to place fifth. Both performances earned All-ECC Second Team accolades.
Junior
Daniel DeGregori (East Meadow, N.Y.) added to the Knights' scoring efforts with an eighth-place finish in the mile (4:47.02), earning All-ECC Second Team honors.
The Knights will now shift their focus to the outdoor season. The outdoor schedule is expected to be released in the coming week.
