Men’s Tennis Places Six in ITA Rankings Ahead of Spring 2026 Campaign

FLUSHING, N.Y. – With six Knights appearing in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National and East Region rankings, Led by head coach Somadi Druker, the Queens College men's tennis team opens the Spring 2026 season aiming for a 24th straight appearance in the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament.
 
Leading the way for the Knights is sophomore Adam Laur (Boulogne Billancourt, France), who is ranked No. 45 nationally and No. 2 in the East Region in singles. Laur enters the spring in strong form, posting a 7-1 record in singles and a 4-2 mark in doubles during the fall and early season.
 
Senior Lucas Foix Sotos (Javea, Spain) is the second Knight to earn a national singles ranking, coming in at No. 47 nationally and No. 3 in the East Region. Foix Sotos holds a 4-2 singles record and is 2-2 in doubles.
 
Junior Tim Andersson (Linkoping, Sweden) is ranked No. 11 in East Region singles and No. 6 in East Region doubles. Andersson carries a 2-2 singles record, while excelling in doubles with a 6-1 mark.
 
Senior Alexis Martin-Gibiard (Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France) checks in at No. 14 in East Region singles, owning a 3-2 singles record and a 4-2 doubles record. Martin-Gibiard has also teamed with Laur to form one of the nation's top doubles pairs, as the duo is ranked No. 25 nationally and No. 2 in the East Region.
 
Sophomore Samuel Linck (Haarlem, Netherlands) is ranked No. 16 in East Region singles, entering the spring with a 3-1 singles record and a 2-2 doubles mark. Linck also pairs with Foix Sotos in doubles, with the tandem ranked No. 7 in the East Region.
 
Rounding out the ranked doubles pairs, Andersson and junior David Cerne (Ljubljana, Slovenia) are ranked No. 6 in the East Region, posting an impressive 6-1 doubles record.
 
As a team, the Knights open the spring season with a 3-0 overall record and a challenging slate ahead. The 2026 schedule features 16 total matches, including 10 home contests and six road matches. Queens opens the season on February 6 against Long Island University, beginning a stretch of eight consecutive home matches.
 
To prepare for Division II postseason play, Queens will face a strong non-conference lineup, squaring off against six Division I opponents among the 16 matches. The Knights will also compete in six East Coast Conference (ECC) matches as they look to defend their ECC title.
 
The ECC Championship Tournament is scheduled for April 24–25 at the USTA National Tennis Center, with all matches live streamed on FloCollege.
