COLONIA, N.J. – On the first East Coast Conference men's basketball weekly report sheet released Monday afternoon, two Queens College men's basketball student-athletes were honored with freshman forward
Henri Mennander (Helsinki, Finland) earning Rookie of the Week honors, while senior forward
Tahj-Malik Campbell (Philadelphia, PA) earned a Honor Roll spot.
Rookie of the Week
Mennander contributed 8.0 PPG on 83.3% shooting, 7.5 RPG, and 2.0 BPG, helping the Knights start the season 1–1. Mennander recorded eight points, five rebounds, and one block in his debut against Adelphi. In Sunday's upset victory over RV Pace, he added eight points, a career-best 10 rebounds, three blocks, and one steal.
Honor Roll
Campbell powered the Knights' offense, averaging 22.5 PPG, 10.5 RPG, and 2.0 BPG after totaling 45 points, 21 rebounds, four blocks, and two steals with one double-double. Campbell opened the season with a career-best 23 points and 12 rebounds against Adelphi on Friday. In the Knights' upset win over RV Pace, he posted a team-high 22 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks as Queens defeated the Setters 65–59.
NEXT GAME
The Knights remain on the road as they travel to Riverdale, N.Y., on Saturday, November 22, to take on the Lincoln University Lions in Game Two of the Harlem Renaissance Classic, hosted by Manhattan University. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
