WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Concluding their Western New York trip on Sunday evening, the Queens College women's tennis team matched up against the Wildcats of Daemen University in East Coast Conference play inside Miller Tennis Center
 
The Knights dominated, sweeping both doubles and singles competition to secure a 7-0 victory over the Saints.
 
With the win, Queens improves to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in ECC play.

Doubles Play

Promoted to #1 doubles, the senior doubles duo of Regina Ruiz (Mexico City, Mexico) and Kayla Taszymowicz (Brooklyn, N.Y.) opened the evening with a 6-0 victory over Marley Conover and Stephanie Baier.
 
Queens would secure the doubles point as the #2 pair of senior Lydia Zafeiri (Athens, Greece) and sophomore Johanne Genestay (Dinan, France) earned a 6-1 victory over Bella Bjerkan and Carly Armitage.
 
The #3 doubles duo of Marie Bertran (Villelaure, France) and junior Allycia Santa-Cruz (Queens, N.Y.) earned a 6-2 victory over Ashley Bonilla and Lily Goodemote to complete the doubles sweep.

Singles Play

Promoted to #2 singles, freshman Ela Vasic (Novi Sad, Serbia) would put Queens up 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Baier.
 
Zafeiri earned the Knights their third point of the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Bonilla at the #5 court.
 
Junior Sixtine Goubet (Lyon, France) would clinch the match for the Knights at the #1 court with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Conover.
 
Genestay at the #4 court earned the Knights' fifth point of the match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Armitage.
 
Santa-Cruz would put Queens up 6-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Goodemote at the #6 court.
 
Taszymowicz completed the sweep at the #3 court with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Bjerkan as Queens improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in ECC play.

Next Match:

The Knights will return in the spring semester. The 2026 schedule will be released in late January.
