Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Produce Excellent Showing at Adelphi Panthers XC Invitational

BETHPAGE, N.Y. – On Friday afternoon the 2024 Queens College Men's and Women's Cross Country program opened the 2024 season competing in the Adelphi University Panthers XC Invitational at Bethpage State Park.
 
In the women's 5K race, the Knights placed seventh as a team, on the men's side the Knights placed sixth in the 8K race. 

Women's Highlights

  • Rachel Mow paced the side with a top-10 finish to place ninth with a career-best time of 20:17.3.
  • Joy Leong placed 46th with a time of 24:31.4 to finish in the top 50.
  • While Maria Flores placed 52nd with a time of 25.29.2
  • Madelyn McMath recorded a time of 27.49.1 for a 68th-place finish.
  • The duo of Andrea Rivera and Jennifer Salazar finished the course 17 seconds apart as Rivera placed 73rd with a time of 28:21.8 and Salazar placed 75th with a time of 28:38.6 on the afternoon.

Men's Highlight

  • John Ray paced the Knights with a top-10 finish with a time of 26:40.8.
  • Daniel DeGregori recorded a 22nd-place finish with a time of 28:11.9.
  • Dean Tirado recorded a time of 29:47.3 for a 38th-place finish.
  • Peter Hoffmann placed 47th with a time of 30:29.3, while Kyle Daniels rounded the top 50th finish with a time of 30:39.4.
  • Paulo Cirollo notched a time of 33:56.4 for a 68th-place finish.

Next Meet:

Following a week off the Knights return to Bethpage State Park on Saturday, Sept. 21 to compete in the Golden Eagles Invitational hosted by St. Joseph's College – Long Island.
