M/W Outdoor Track & Field Teams Produce Excellent Showing at Coach Omeltchenko Invitational Sunday

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – Continuing their outdoor season the Queens College men's and women's track and field teams made the Kings Point to compete in the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by United States Merchant Marine Academy.
 

Men's Highlights

  1. In the 100m Dash (Preliminaris) rookie Diara Guy would tie a career-best with a time of 11.18 to advance to the final before winning the 100m Dash with a time of 11:38.
  2. In the 200m rookie Kadeem Patterson placed third with a time of 22.75.
  3. In the 800m Run, junior Peter Hoffmann placed 12th with a time of 2:13.65 to record a new career-best time before placing fifth in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:35.88.
  4. In the 5000m Run, junior John Ray placed sixth with a time of 16:18.31.
  5. In the 110H finals sophomore Damilola Babalola placed third with a time of 16.77 before recording a career-best time in the 400H with a time of 1:00.13 to place fourth.
  6. In the Long Jump Hakeem Griffiths placed 11th with a mark of 6.12m and seventh in the Triple jump with a mark of 12.00m.
  7. In the Javelin Throw senior Fabian Tan placed second with a mark of 42.56m.

Women's Highlights

  1. In the 200m Dash, senior Khareena Primus placed first with a time of  25.82 before setting a new career-best time of 1:01.63 in the 400m Dash to place first.
  2. In the 800m Run, senior Fatima Morrobel placed first with a time of 2:25.08 while sophomore Rachel Mow placed fifth with a time of 2:48.38.
  3. In the 1500m Run, Mow would set a new career-best time of 5:24.17 as she placed fifth.
  4. In the field events sophomore Madelyn McMath placed sixth in the Shot Put with a mark of 9.12m to record a new career-best mark, while placing third in the Javelin Throw the sophomore placed third with a mark of 25.03m.
  5. In the 3000s Steeplechase junior Andrea Rivera placed fifth with a time of 15:52.94.

The Knights return to action on Friday (Apr. 12) morning as they host their second Track Meet in back-to-back years. The first event is set for 11:00 a.m.
