FLUSHING, N.Y. – Continuing their outdoor season the Queens College men's and women's track and field teams hosted their second straight meet in back-to-back years by welcoming local opponents to Flushing.
Prior to the start of the first event head coach
Greg Welch and the Knights honored their graduation seniors for their dedication to the Cross Country and Track & Field program.
Men's Highlights
- In the 3000m Run junior John Ray placed second with a time of 9:24.73 as the junior recorded a new career-best in his fourth meet with the Knights.
- In the 1500m Run freshman Daniel DeGregori placed fifth with a time of 4:32.97.
- While in the 800m Run the rookie placed fifth with a time of 2:10.01.
- In the 110m Hurdles, sophomore Damilola Babalola placed second with a time of 19.31.
- In the 100m Dash (Preliminaries), the freshman duo of Kadeem Patterson and Diara Guy would qualify for the finals.
- Patterson would place second with a time of 11.27 and Guy taking third place with a time of 11.35.
- In the 400m Dash junior Justin Eweka placed eighth with a time of 55.24 to set a new career-best time.
- In the 200m Dash rookie Patterson placed first with a time of 22.68.
- In the Long Jump Hakeem Griffiths placed fourth with a mark of 5.88m, while junior Zack Sow placed seventh with a mark of 5.82m.
- In the Triple Jump, Griffiths placed seventh with a mark of 11.89m, while Sow placed 10th with a mark of 10.82m.
- In the 4x100m Relay, the team of Griffiths, Patterson, sophomore Ezequiel Zapata, and Guy would take first place with a time of 44.31.
- While in the 4x400m Relay, the team of Guy, Patterson, Griffiths, and Eweka placed first with a time of 3:34.04.
Women's Highlights
- In the 3000m Run, sophomore Joy Leong placed second with a time of 13:16.66.
- While in the 1500m Run, Leong placed second with a time of 6:22.50.
- In the 100m Dash, the senior trio of Khareena Primus, Mahaillia Spencer, and Hayley Matthews qualified for the 100m Dash finals.
- In the final Primus would earn first place with a time of 12.77, while Matthews placed fifth (14.22) and Spencer took sixth (14.29) place.
- In the 800m Run, senior Fatima Morrobel placed first with a time of 2:26.81.
- In the 200m Dash Matthews placed sixth with a time of 30.45.
- In the field events sophomore Madelyn McMath placed fifth with a mark of 9.61m to set a new career-high.
- In the 4x100m Relay, the pair of Primus, Spencer, freshman Kierstin Galloway, and Matthews placed first with a time of 52.74.
- While the "B" team of junior Maria Flores, sophomore Jennifer Salazar, freshman Solana Hernandez, and sophomore Shivangi Sharma placed second with a time of 58.87.
- While in the 4x400m Relay, the team of Primus, Spencer, Morrobel, and sophomore Rachel Mow took first place with a time of 4:30.54.

The Knights return to action on Saturday (Apr. 20) morning as they travel to New Haven, CT to compete in the Jack Maloney Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut State University. First event is set for 10:00 a.m.
