FLUSHING, N.Y. – The 2024 portion of the Queens College women's tennis team schedule served up on February 24 as the Knights matched up against East Regional foe Franklin Pierce University Ravens before welcoming an out-of-division foe in Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights on March 6 to Flushing.
The Knights would earn a 6-1 victory over the Ravens as they ended a three-match losing streak against their regional foe who have had their number in the last three contests.
Queens starts the match sweeping the doubles action before going on to earn five singles victories to earn a 6-1 victory to improve to 9-1 on the year.
Against the D1 foe FDU, the #2 doubles duo of sophomore
Apolline Lamy (Toulouse, France) and graduate student
Eva Rivoal (Saint Denis de Pile, France) earned a 6-3 victory but FDU would earn the doubles point.
In singles play three matches would go the distance but Lamy would be the lone Queens player to earn the singles victory in a three-set victory to the score of 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 as the hosts fell to the final score of 6-1.
