Knights Produce Excellent Showing at DeSchriver Invitational Sunday

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. - The Queens College men's and women's Indoor Track and field season returned to action Sunday (Feb. 4) morning competing in the DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University inside the East Stroudsburg Field House.
 
Competing against tough competition, several Knights went on to produce new personal bests throughout the event.

Men's Highlights

  1. Rookie Diara Guy continued his track career on a quick start to set a program record of 6.76 in the 55m Dash as he placed 11th in the meet.
  2. While Kadeem Patterson recorded a new PR of 6.89 in the 55m Dash and placed fifth in the 200m Dash with a time of 23.63.
  3. Damilola Babalola set two new career-best times as he recorded a time of 8.61 in the 55m Hurdles, while in the 55m Dash, he set a new time of 6.90 on the day.
  4. In the One Mile Run, Abdi Mohamed placed sixth with a time of 4:51.88, while Peter Hoffmann earned an eighth-place finish with a time of 5:06.82. Lastly, Kyle Daniels earned a new PR with a time of 5:14.92 to place ninth in the event.
  5. In the Weight Throw, Matthew Castro recorded a new mark of 10.18m as he placed 15th on the day.
  6. In the 3000m Run, John Ray placed fifth with a time of 9:40.63.

Women's Highlights

  1. Mahaillia Spencer produced a new career-high in the 55m Dash with a time of 8.20
  2. Khareena Primus made her return as she placed third in the 200m Dash with a time of 26.60 and helped the Knights to a fourth-place finish in the 4x200 relay with a time of 2:00.18.
  3. Fatima Morrobel recorded a time of 2:26.21 in the 800m Run as she placed first in the meet.
  4. Andrea Rivera earned an eighth-place finish in the 1000m Run with a time of 4:16.45.
  5. In the 3000m Run Rachel Mow recorded a PR of 12:06.81 to place fifth in the meet.
  6. Joy Leong placed eighth in the 3000m Run with a time of 13:27.51, while Ashley Rodriguez Perez placed 10th with a time of 14:00.42. 


Up Next:

The Knights will now use the next two weeks to prepare for the East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship to be held on Sunday (Feb. 18) afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. The first event is set for 4:00 p.m. start time.
