M/W Indoor Track & Field Team Competes in ECC Championship Sunday

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Returning to Ocean Breeze Complex Sunday (Feb. 18) afternoon, the Queens College men's and women's Indoor Track and field team competed in the East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship meet.
 
The women's side placed 10th and the men's side placed ninth in the meet.

Men's Highlights

  1. Damilola Babalola qualified for the 60m Hurdles final as he placed eighth with a time of 9.24.
    1. In the final Babalola placed fourth with a time of 8.92 to set a new PR.
  2. Rookie Diara Guy qualified for the 60m Dash final with a time of 7.15 by placing eighth.
    1. In the final Guy placed seventh with a time of 7.15.
  3. In the 500m Dash, Juan Cruz Ladino placed ninth with a time of 1:10.88.
  4. In the 1000m Run, Kyle Daniels placed 16th with a time of 3:03.95.
  5. In the 3000m Run, John Ray placed 10th with a time of 9:37.67.
  6. In the One Mile Run, Abdi Mohamed placed 10th with a time of 4:57.30, while Peter Hoffmann earned 12th finish with a time of 5:03.92
  7. In the Long Jump Hakeem Griffiths placed 13th with a mark of 6.21m and ninth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 12.23m.
  8. In the Weight Throw event, Matthew Castro earned a mark of 9.38m, and in the Shot Put event earned a mark of 9.62m to record a new PR.

Women's Highlights

  1. Khareena Primus qualified for the 60m Dash final by placing third with a time of 7.88 to record a new PR.
    1. Primus placed fifth in the final with a time of 7.94.
    2. In the 200m Dash Primus placed fifth with a time of 25.82
  2. In the One Mile Run, Rachel Mow placed fourth with a time of 5:48.36 to record a new PR.
  3. In the 800m Run, Fatima Morrobel placed fifth with a time of 2:24.79.
  4. In the Shot Put event, Madelyn McMath recorded a new PR with a mark of 8.27m.

Up Next:

The Knights conclude the Indoor Season on Friday (Feb. 23) afternoon as they compete in the Fasttrack Last Chance Invitational in Staten Island. The first event is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
