ROCHESTER, N.Y. – For the second straight game it would be a tale of two halves for the Queens College men's basketball team as they matched up against the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University inside Voller Athletic Center Friday evening in East Coast Conference play.
Junior guard
Shamar Chester (Queens, N.Y.) continued his scoring way to lead the Knights offense with a game-high 20 points while junior
Jayden Seraphin (Lakeview, N.Y.) recorded 19 points and senior
Malik Bentinck (St. Albans, N.Y) notched his 10
th double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds but the slow start in the first half would hurt the comeback rally as Queens fell to the final score of 98-74 Friday evening.
With the loss the Knights move to 12-11 and 6-6 in ECC play and move into fifth place in the conference play

Queens opened the scoring at the free throw line as they took a 2-0 lead at the 19:43 mark, their lone lead of the night before the Redhawks went on a 9-0 run as they took a 9-2 lead with 17:28 left.
Chester would tally the first field goal of the night at the 16:48 mark to break the scoring drought for Queens to get within five, 9-4.
However, with the Knights struggling to get consistent scoring in the first half, the Redhawks would take a 54-31 lead at halftime.
After shooting 33.3% from the field in the first half, Queens would improve in the second half as they shot 46.8% from with 15 made field goals to go toe-to-toe with the Redhawks. But the slow start in the first half would hurt the Knights in completing the series sweep as both teams defended their home court.
By the Numbers
- Chester led the offense matching a game-high 20 points (7-of-17 FG, 1-of-7 3PT, 5-of-6 FT) to go with two rebounds, one block, and one steal.
- Seraphin notched 19 points (8-of-14 FG, 3-of-3 FT) to go with three steals and two rebounds.
- Bentinck notched his 10th double-double of the year with 17 points (7-of-14 FG, 1-of-1 3PT, 2-of-3 FT) with 10 rebounds, three steals, and one assist.
- As a team, the Knights were held to 40.3% going 25-of-62 from the field, while the Redhawks shot a blistering 57.1% on 36-of-63 shooting.
- Roberts Wesleyan held a 42-31 rebounding margin.
- In the first half, Queens were held to 33.3% from the field with 10 made field goals.
- The Knights forced 20 Redhawks turnovers into 28 points.
