Facing tough competition, the Knights would fall 6-0 on Sunday evening as the Sharks earned doubles points before earning five singles matches to earn the victory.

The Knights #3 doubles duo of Chloe Certain (Obernai, France) and sophomore Rea Hagishima (Tokyo, Japan) fell first to the score of 6-1 to Saki Oyama and Bianca Compuesto.

The home side would clinch the doubles at #2 court as the duo of junior Caroline Hany-Fawzy (Alexandria, Egypt) and freshman Apolline Lamy (Toulouse, France) were defeated 6-1 by the pair of Leopoldine Boisseau and Marion Deloziere.

The #1 doubles match between seniors Maja Makal (Bialystok, Poland) and Gabriela Sciarrotta (Woodmere, N.Y.) against Victoria Erechtchenko and Elinor Storkaas went unfinished.

In singles play, Certain would fall at #5 singles to Ekaterine Jorjoliani to the score of 6-2, 6-1.

Makal fell at #1 singles to Boisseau to the score of 6-0, 6-3 before the Sharks clinched the match at #3 singles as Fawzy fell 6-3, 6-0 to Compuesto.

At #4 singles, Sciarrotta would fight back before she fell 7-5 to Storkaas. But the Woodmere native would earn a second set victory of 6-4 before falling short in the tiebreaker 10-6.

With the match already lost, Hagishima would play an eight-set pro match against Jasmine Maduel but it would be Maduel who would earn an 8-5 victory.

While at #2 singles it would be a back-and-forth match between Lamy and Oyama before Lamy earned a hard-fought first set victory over 7-6 (7-5) but the overall match would be stopped after the rookie defeated Oyama in the first set.
