MTEN Henricy Shares ECC Co-Player of the Year Honors, Borges & Demuth Named to All-Conference Team

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – On Thursday (Apr. 20) afternoon, the East Coast Conference office announced the 2023 Men's Tennis All-Conference honors. Sophomore Cameron Henricy (Las Palmas, Spain) earned a share of the Player of the Year honors along with being named to the All-Conference team, while graduate student Moritz Borges (Hunxe, Germany) and senior Lucas Demuth (Buenos Aires, Argentina) earned All-Conference honors as the Knights placed three.

For the second straight year, a Knight has earned Co-Player of the Year as Henricy joins fellow teammate senior Kareem Rashad (Alexandria, Egypt) was earned Co-Player of the Year following the conclusion of the 2022 season. 
 
Playing at #1 and #2 singles play, Henricy went 18-6 in singles play and a spectacular 8-1 record in two tournaments during the 2022-2023 season. While in doubles play, Henricy holds a 15-5 record. 
 
Henricy began the year winning the top flight "A" Singles Alan Landes Invitational Tournament before becoming the first Knights since the 2016 season to advance to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region Singles Championship match. 
 
In conference play, the sophomore went 5-1 in singles, and 4-1 in doubles play 
 
Over the 10 weeks of the Men's Tennis Weekly Report Sheet, Henricy earned Two Player of the Week honors and three Honor Roll spots for his performance. 
 
ECC MTEN Borges All-Conference
Moritz Borges 
(Hunxe, Germany) | Graduate | All-Conference

 
For the third straight year, Borges has found a spot on the All-Conference team.
 
Borges has been a mainstay in the Knights lineup holding a single record of 10-3, and 5-0 in conference play, while in doubles play, the German native holds an impressive 20-7 record and 4-1 in conference play. 
 
During the ITA East Regional Championship Borges and teammate junior Roni Rikkonen (Tampere, Finland) advanced to the championship match becoming the first Knights pair to advance to the final since the 2016 season. 
 
The duo would earn an At-Large bid to compete for the ITA National Doubles Championship crown in Mount Berry, Georgia. Borges and Rikkonen would advance to the Quarterfinals as they defeated the University of Charleston duo of Jowan Rawson/Lennert Stevens in the Round of 16.
 
On the season, Borges was awarded Player of the Week honors and a Honor Roll for his performance throughout the 10-week regular season. 
 

ECC MTEN Demuth All-Conference

 (Buenos Aires, Argentina) | Senior | All-Conference

 
In what has been a tremendous season for Demuth, the senior was awarded an All-Conference spot for the second time in his career in Queens and first since his freshman year.
 
On the season, Demuth holds an overall record of 13-6 in singles play and a 15-5 record in doubles play. 
 
While in doubles play, Demuth went 15-5 overall, with an 8-3 record at #2 doubles and a 4-1 record in conference play. 
 
UP NEXT: Head coach Somadi Druker and the Knights return to action on Friday (Apr. 21) morning as they look to dethrone defending conference champions Saint Thomas Aquinas College Spartans inside the QC Tennis Bubble. The championship match is slated for 11:30 a.m.
