Men’s Tennis Borges Earns ECC Player of the Week Honors; Henricy Earns a Honor Roll Spot

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – On Monday afternoon, the East Coast Conference office announced Week nine of the Men's Tennis Report Sheet and Queens College men's tennis graduate student Moritz Borges (Hunxe, Germany) was awarded Player of the Week, while sophomore Cameron Henricy (Las Palmas, Spain) earned a spot on the Honor Roll Sheet.

For the fourth time this season, a Queens College student-athlete has earned top honors from the conference office. 
 
In two crucial matches last week, Borges went 4-0 on the week earning victories at No. 5 singles and No. 3 double. The graduate student earned a doubles victory before earning a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Alberto Navarro of STAC as the Knights earned the series split. The German native would conclude his week with a victory in doubles and singles in a crucial regional game over Le Moyne as he earned a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles and a 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles over Kacper Piekarek

For the third time this season and fourth overall, Henricy has found a spot on the ECC men's tennis weekly report sheet.
 
To go with his Player of the Week honors on Feb. 27, the sophomore has earned a Honor Roll spot three times this season. 
 
Henricy was instrumental in helping the Knights defeat No. 38 STAC and gave the Spartans their first loss of the season as the sophomore clinched the match at No. 1 singles over Ody Papaioannou in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-3).
 
UP NEXT: Head coach Somadi Druker and the Knights conclude the regular season with four straight matches on the road beginning with a three-match trip to the Sunshine State. The trip's first serve gets underway on Wednesday (Apr. 12) afternoon as they match up against Barry University Buccaneers at the USTA Training Center. First serve set for 3:00 p.m.
